September 29, 2016 - In testimony before the U.S. International Trade Commission today, Metals Service Center Institute Board of Directors Vice Chair and President and Chief Operating Officer of O’Neal Industries R. Holman Head called for tougher government action to halt unfair and illegal trade practices, particularly by China, that have harmed the U.S. aluminum industry. Head urged “decisive action, and continued vigilant monitoring” in a program to address dumping, predatory pricing and currency manipulation.

September 21, 2016 - Andes Coil Processors LLC announced its Gary, Ind., toll processing facility now is able to accept railcars via Canadian National Railway Co. to and from the Andes facility in the Great Lakes Industrial Complex. The routing location within the Canadian National system is the Burns Harbor, Ind., station. The added rail service bolsters the existing rail service via Norfolk Southern Railroad.
September 20, 2016 - Today, the Rebar Trade Action Coalition, a coalition of steel concrete reinforcing bar producers in the United States, filed petitions asking the U.S. Department of Commerce and the International Trade Commission to conduct antidumping investigations into Japanese, Taiwanese, and Turkish imports of rebar, and a countervailing duty investigation into Turkish imports of rebar. The petitions demonstrate that Japanese, Taiwanese, and Turkish rebar producers are dumping their product into the United States at margins ranging from 86.12 percent to 206.17 percent.
