Waterjet increases productivity

February 2011 - E.J. Bartells, Renton, Wash., installed a Jet Edge Inc., St. Michael, Minn., waterjet system at its insulation, refractories and HVAC fabrication facility in Spokane, Wash. The Mid Rail Gantry waterjet has increased the company’s productivity because of its two-click file changeovers, common line cutting, rapid transversing and easy pump maintenance. "The timeframes for file changeovers and setup were drastically reduced compared to our other system," said Rick Smith, president and CEO of E.J. Bartells. "A part that used to take seven minutes to process now takes only two minutes to process, including loading, cutting and unloading."
