"This acquisition represents another step in Ryerson's ongoing initiative to expand our product and service offering," he said in a press release. Singer is Ryerson's fourth acquisition in 14 months.

Ryerson acquires Singer Steel
May 2011 - Ryerson Inc., Chicago, has acquired Singer Steel Co., a Streetsboro, Ohio-based value-added flat-rolled steel processor. The acquisition will enhance Ryerson's presence in the Midwest and Northeast, according to Mike Arnold, CEO of Ryerson.
