Severstal wins steel excellence award

June 2011 - Severstal North America, Dearborn, Mich., won Best Brownfield Technology in American Metal Market's 2011 awards for steel excellence. The awards recognize the implementation of business improvements that have changed the steel industry. Severstal's efforts to remediate a steelworks site in Dearborn, originally built by Henry Ford in 1918, include a $740 million modernization program that consists of a new cold-rolling complex and galvanizing line.
