July 2011 - The Copper and Brass Servicenter Association, Overland Park, Kan., awarded the first R. Franklin Brown Jr. scholarship, the association’s top scholarship, to Michael Palinkas, son of Edward Palinkas, an employee of Somers Thin Strip/Global Brass and Copper Inc. This award was founded this year to honor R. Franklin Brown Jr. who retired from CBSA in 2009 after 50 years at the CBSA as executive vice president.
