Metals CFOs pessimistic about industry

November 2011 - Metals CFOs reported feeling slightly more pessimistic about the state of their industry in the six months prior to a survey conducted by GE Capital Americas, Norwalk, Conn. Their expectations for industry expansion in the next 12 months fell significantly, with 36 percent expecting expansion compared to 66 percent who expected it six months ago. Additionally, 28 percent of metals CFOs feel their current levels of inventories are too high, up 16 points since they were last polled in the first quarter.
