January 2012 - Deere & Co., Moline, Ill., won the 2011 Swedish Steel Prize, awarded by SSAB, Stockholm, which recognizes the best high-strength-steel design. By using high-strength steels, Deere & Co. developed combines that harvest crops more efficiently while meeting stringent engine emissions requirements. Other finalists included HT Engineering Ltd., Napier, New Zealand; Rotary-Ax, Pinhais, Brazil; and Sweco Structure, Stockholm.
