May 2012 - Ryerson Inc., Chicago, bought a 0.25-inch by 72-inch-wide multicut blanking line for its Charlotte, N.C., facility from Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, Ill. The line includes Red Bud’s precision grip feed system, CNC programmable slitter, automatic strip divider positioning system and strip stacker. The new equipment, which will increase Ryerson’s capacity and lower costs, produces blanks with width and length tolerances within 0.005 inch. The line should be operational by third quarter 2012.
