July 2012 - Independence Tube, Chicago, reopened its Decatur, Ala., facility exactly one year after it suffered extensive tornado damage on April 27, 2011. The company held a celebration for all workers and suppliers who helped rebuild. Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley and state Sen. Arthur Orr attended and spoke. During renovations, the company expanded the mill to produce 14-inch and 16-inch OD.
