September 2012 - Heidtman Steel, Toledo, Ohio, will shut down its Sparrows Point, Md., facility. Heidtman, a leading North American flat-rolled carbon steel processor, has operated the plant for the past 25 years. The three-phase controlled shutdown began in July, and the last shipments will leave the facility on Oct. 31. The company will serve customers in the Northeast corridor from its Cleveland facility.
