December 2012 - In October, Severstal North America, Dearborn, Mich., was selected as the gold medal winner of the 2012 Association for Iron and Steel Technology Reliability Achievement Award. AIST recognized the company’s focus on improving blast furnace tuyere life as a project that had significant impact on operational reliability. Since undertaking the project, tuyere life at Severstal has improved by 96 percent.
