Gerdau expansion nearly complete

September 2013 - Gerdau Special Steel, Jackson, Mich., is expanding its SBQ facility in Huntington, Ind. The new space includes a fifth line for the quench and temper process, a crane and a new building for housing the latest steel bar manufacturing equipment. The expansion will allow Gerdau to process up to 15,000 tons of steel annually to support the automotive industry’s switch from hydraulic powered steering to electric powered steering systems.
