October 2008 - UC Rusal, Moscow, developed a unique process for waste recycling in an effort to reduce quantities of solid waste at the Bratsk aluminum facility by more than 5,500 tons annually. The process is based on continuous processing and a return of fluorine-rich saline slag into the production line, helping ease the the environmental impact of the aluminum operations. The method was jointly developed by Bratsk engineers and Rusal’s engineering and construction division.
