Alcoa releases 2008 corporate sustainability report

April 2009 - Alcoa Inc. released its 2008 corporate sustainability report. Highlights include 75.9 percent of Alcoa locations had no lost workdays, and 44.4 percent didn't have any recordable injuries. The company also achieved a 36 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions since the 1990 base year, and it was reported that about 90 percent of its operations have community programs. The Dow Jones Sustainability Index included Alcoa for the seventh year in a row.
