Franklin Brown retires from CBSA

June 2009 - Franklin Brown Jr., executive vice president of the Copper and Brass Servicenter Association has retired. His tenure spans nearly half a century. He began working with the association in 1959, and ran his first convention in Nassau, the Bahamas, in the spring of 1960.

He was promoted to his present position in 1961, and the annual meeting this past April marked his 50th.

As a CBSA official, he served a term as Chairman of the Association Executives Council, and a three-year term on on the Board of the National Association of Wholesaler/Distributors.

He resides in Radnor, Pa., with Joyce, his wife of 40 years.

Susan Avery of the Overland Park, Kan., firm Association Services International is the new executive director.
