SSAB Americas announces plans to move head office to Mobile

October 20, 2017 - SSAB Americas, a division of global steelmaker SSAB, announced plans to relocate the division’s head office from Lisle, Ill., to Mobile, Ala., a move that will bring 60 jobs to Alabama. Governor Ivey announces Alabama as first state to roll out nationally recognized manufacturing credentials at every community college

October 12, 2017 - Governor Kay Ivey, while speaking at the Southern Automotive Conference Friday, announced that the Alabama Community College System (ACCS), through a partnership with the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC), will be offering nationally-recognized and industry-led credentials at every college this Spring. This rollout makes Alabama the first state in the nation to offer the MSSC credentials statewide.

The MPI undergoes its sharpest drop since early June

October 12, 2017 - The Materials Price Index (MPI) fell by 2.3 percent last week, its strongest decline since early June. Only four sub-indexes, principally ferrous metals and oil, drove the fall. Ferrous metals dropped by a sharp 9.6 percent, while oil prices fell by 2.8 percent.

Constellium consolidates its long-term partnership with Bombardier through multi-year contract
