Mazda, Toyota create U.S. joint venture, plan to build new assembly plant

January 10, 2018 - Mazda and Toyota have selected Huntsville, Alabama, as the site of a joint-venture assembly plant able to to build 300,000 vehicles a year. AEC files new circumvention petition on Chinese aluminum extrusions circumvented through Vietnam

January 10, 2018 - This week, the Aluminum Extruders Council, through its Aluminum Extrusions Fair Trade Committee, filed a new circumvention petition against China Zhongwang Holdings Limited and its extensive network of affiliates, asking the Department of Commerce to find that Chinese aluminum extrusions produced by Zhongwang that are converted in Vietnam before being exported to the United States are circumventing the antidumping and countervailing duty orders on aluminum extrusions from China.

Alcoa to close Rockdale, Texas, smelter

December 21, 2017 - Alcoa intends to permanently close its Rockdale operations in Texas, which was idled since the end of 2008.
