Pro-Tec to add $400M coating line for Gen 3 automotive steels

September 26, 2017 - U.S. Steel Corp, Pittsburgh, and Kobe Steel Ltd., Japan, have agreed to begin construction of a new continuous galvanizing line (CGL) at their subsidiaries’ joint venture, Pro-Tec Coating Company in Leipsic, Ohio.

Carpenter to increase prices on all stainless steel product forms

First spiral pipe produced at Schuler plant

September 12, 2017 - The offline spiral pipe plant can produce large-diameter pipes with a diameter of 508 to 2,235 millimeters (20 to 88 inches) and a length of 12 to 24.4 meters. The raw material up to 25.4 millimeter-thick sheet metal band made of high-quality steel (up to x100) comes on a hot rolled coil (HRC).
