October 20, 2015 - U.S.-flag Great Lakes freighters (lakers) carried 9.8 million tons of cargo in September, a decrease of 8 percent compared to a year ago, and a decrease of 1 percent compared to the month’s long-term average. Iron ore cargos decreased 20 percent. Coal cargos increased 10 percent. Limestone loadings increased 6 percent.

October 19, 2015 - The five year contract, with an estimated value of $300 million, runs January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2021. The contract requirements include value-added, just-in-time, cut-to-size and cut-to-shape processing of aluminum plate for use by multiple Lockheed Martin, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Teammates and subcontractor facilities for all F-35 aluminum flat rolled requirements.
