June 2, 2016 - Hitachi Metals America LLC accepted Honda Motor Company’s 2015 Excellence in Quality Award for products made at its Waupaca Foundry plants. The award acknowledges suppliers who meet Honda’s philosophy of consistently exceeding expectations and is given annually to suppliers who reach the top of their commodity classification as measured by Honda’s quality and warranty performance index.
May 31, 2016 - Producers of steel pipes, fittings and flanges have met in Dusseldorf to discuss the problem of steel products counterfeiting, challenging the industry today. The ultimate goal of the meeting is to develop joint plan of actions to withstand unfair competition that cause crucial risks for industry and society. The meeting was organized as part of Fight Fake Products Initiative, established in December 2015.
May 27, 2016 - Women in Manufacturing has elected Sheila LaMothe, associate director of marketing and public relations for Farmington, Connecticut-based TRUMPF Inc., 2016 chairperson of the WiM Board of Directors. LaMothe takes the reins after serving as WiM’s vice chairperson in 2015 and participating on the WiM Summit host committee for the past four years.

May 17, 2016 - Red Bud Industries recently received an order for an EPS Coil Line from TYASA located in Orizaba, Veracruz, Mexico. The new line can descale hot-rolled strip up to 0.075 in. (1.9 mm) thick and 72 in. (1829 mm) wide, and can handle coil weights up to 73,000 lbs.
