Trump signed a presidential memorandum calling on Secretary Wilbur Ross to prioritize a Department of Commerce investigation initiated last night into the effects of steel imports on US national security. The study will consider production and capacity, workforce, investment, research and development, and other factors, to determine whether steel imports threaten American security.

American tubing producers file trade petition

April 20, 2017 - Five U.S. steel tubular products manufacturers – ArcelorMittal Tubular Products, Michigan Seamless Tube  LLC, PTC Alliance Corp., Webco Industries Inc. and Zekelman Industries Inc.  –  filed petitions charging that unfairly-traded imports of cold-drawn steel mechanical tubing from the People's Republic of China, the Federal Republic of Germany, India, Italy, the Republic of Korea, and Switzerland are causing material injury to the domestic industry.

Toyota announces $1.33 billion investment in Kentucky plant

April 10, 2017 - A $1.33 billion investment will make Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky Inc. (TMMK) the first plant in North America to begin producing vehicles using Toyota New Global Architecture.
