December 9, 2021 - Earlier this month, Alliance Steel LLC, Gary, Indiana, added an additional slitting line to its lineup of in-house slitters. The steel service center adds a Paxson/Braner .250 in. by 24 in. narrow slitting line to complete their trifecta. The addition of this line places Alliance Steel in a unique position to supply narrow slit coils with tight width tolerances.
“It is important for Alliance Steel and our customer base to offer as many products and services as possible. Therefore, our team felt that it was necessary to add narrow coil slitting capacity to our already robust arsenal of equipment capabilities,” says Drew Gross, corporate vice president.
This precision slitting line, rebuilt in 2021, is equipped with a power-driven head, 16 ft. looping pit for camber–free material, and a tension stand for an exceptional quality product.

Precision Slitting creates opportunities for industries that require narrow cuts, such as multi-slide stamping, power generation, infrastructure, tubing, and many more.
“With the ability to slit nearly half an inch in width, there are literally no industries we cannot service or provide for out of our state-of-the-art headquarters in Gary, Indiana,” Gross added.
Alongside the 24 in. slitter, Alliance Steel has two additional slitting lines, including a heavy-gauge slitter (.500 in. by 84 in.) and a .010 in. by 72 in. coil slitter.
