In October of 2025, the Expanded Metal Manufactures Association (EMMA) published an update to the Standards for Expanded Metal, EMMA 557-25. EMMA member companies’ primary goal is to prevent erosion of quality over time and ensure end users are getting what they paid for. Additional products were added to create a specification for products being produced that fell between existing products. The stainless-steel specs were changed to reflect what is being produced and consumed in the market. Additional load testing was completed as well, and the results can be found in the updated EMMA 557-25 standard.
