The Intuit Dome, opened earlier in 2024 to host the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team and other events, such as concerts, is also slated as a venue for the 2028 Olympic Games. Along with AECOM, the core design team includes Anderson Barker Architects, Hood Design Studio, City Design Studio, Walter P. Moore, Henderson Engineering, and Labib Funk & Associates, among others. The team set out to create a design that’s representative of the character of the LA Clippers and city itself. A standout feature of the visually dynamic and structurally efficient design is a steel frame with diagrid geometry, inspired by the elegant form of a basketball net as a ball passes through it. The building skin is formed from a series of diamond-shaped, interwoven metal panels with multiple uses that adapt over the different areas of the building
