Patlite

April 2014 - Patlite introduces two new flashing dome light designs that offer adaptability for virtually any signal beacon application. XPE and XME lights provide a brightly colored triple-flash sequence that illuminates at a 110 flashes/minute rate. Both styles have vibration resistance, making them ideally suited for indoor mobile equipment applications. Both designs also incorporate a long-life and highly efficient LED light source, specially cut lenses to maximize visibility and a matching light-translucent outer lens cover. The protective dome lens cover is made of a highly durable AS resin and is available in a variety of colors — red, amber and blue (green also available on XPE models). In addition to their long-life and durability, XPE and XME flashing beacon lights also provide exceptional energy efficiency. Typical current consumption rates range from as little as 0.07A for 230 VAC models to 0.42A for 12 VDC models.

The primary difference between the two designs is body construction and size. The main body on XPE models is made of high-impact, heat resistant ABS resin. The XME body is stainless steel with a melamine baked finish. On XPE models, the dome lens cover is a screw on lock/release design with a gasket seal. The XME dome lens is sealed in position with an outer ring flange that seals to the main body with corrosion-proof stainless-steel (SUS 304) mounting latches. Both enclosure designs provide IP23 protection. XPE units are 162 mm in diameter x 203 mm tall; XME units are slightly larger at 187 mm in diameter x 239 mm tall.

XPE/XME beacon lights can be installed in an upright, sideways or inverted position. All models are available with a choice of operating voltages including DC12V or DC24V, or AC100V/AC200V/AC230V (±10%) 50/60 Hz. Installation is quick and easy with simple 3-wire electrical connection and mechanical mounting with rubber gasketed 3-bolt stainless-steel mounting hardware. All models conform to CE requirements and the EMC Directive. DC units also conform to FCC Part 15 Subpart B Class A; AC units additionally conform to the Low Voltage Directive.
