May 31, 2017 - A Dual Mandrel Recoiler can be added to Red Bud Industries' Slitting Lines to further improve their efficiency and throughput. As the previously slit coil tails out, a holddown controls the strips to prevent loose tails at the end of the run. Once the strips have been cropped, the Recoiler automatically rotates with the push of a button. This allows a new coil to be quickly threaded and restarted while the previously slit coils can be banded offline and then removed. This system allows slit coils to be safely removed and the line to be ready to run again in a matter of seconds.

A Recoiler mounted Overarm separator utilizes three modes of operation. In “thread” mode, the Overarm separator has the ability to shift sideways to automatically nest the strips between the dividers before the strips are clamped in place. In “run” mode, the “double pivot” arm extends to allow the separators to be placed in the optimum position for rewinding throughout the entire coil buildup. In tooling “set up” mode, the arm automatically lowers the tooling bar to floor level for convenient tooling changes.
