February 28, 2019 - Red Bud Industries’ film applicators can be used in both cut-to-length and slitting applications. These units are used to apply film or paper to the top side of the strip to protect the material from scratching. Red Bud Industries' systems are specially designed to apply film without wrinkles or bubbles. An outboard bearing prevents shaft toe-in and deflection, which in turn prevents the film from wrinkling. An adjustable air disc brake is included. In addition, the system includes an expandable roll holder. The lower applicator’s roll can also be driven. When applying PVC with high tack adhesive (laser applications), the driven applicator roll is often required to help pull the PVC from the roll of film.
When applying paper, a charge bar and static generator are used to induce static electricity into the paper. The static temporarily holds the paper on the strip. Red Bud Industries' system also allows the film to be centered as the line is running. Your operators can make fine adjustments to assure the film is being applied in the right spot relative to the edge of the material.
A floor mounted roll holder can be added to allow film to be applied to the bottom of the strip. The floor unit is similar to the top applicator, with the exception that it rolls in and out of line for loading. An integrated drop down shelf allows easy access to attach film/paper to the strip. Whether you have a Red Bud Industries’ Line or a competitor’s machine, one of the applicators can be easily added with little or no modifications.
