March 2019 - Australian artist Christian de Vietri created “Between Heaven and Earth” as the iconic entry sculpture for the Zhengzhou Grand Emporium, a new mixed-use development in Zhengzhou, China.
Standing 7.8 meters tall and 9.8 meters wide, the form combines the contradictory features of dynamism and stillness, evoking a calm and meditative experience.
The international studio and workshop Urban Art Project beat and formed panels from 3-millimeter-thick, grade 316 stainless steel, then expertly crafted the complex curves to maintain a fluidity of line and seamless flow.
