October 16, 2019 - BLM GROUP USA’s TS72 universal cold sawing CNC system for cutting tubes, bars and profiles features an automatic axis control function enables automated changeover for non-stop, unattended production. Particularly well-suited to small batch sizes, all adjustments and cutting parameters – material, blade type and tube dimensions – are all automatic so there is zero downtime and big productivity gains.
The TS72 can process tubes up to 102mm (4-in.) outer diameter and part lengths up to 4500mm (177-in.). Round, rectangular, flat-oval and other shapes are all easy to load without needing special equipment. Four different lengths can be cut from each bar, and each length can be unloaded to different discharge positions. The saw automatically positions the different length parts on the bar to minimize waste and maximize material utilization.
As with all BLM systems, the TS72 has a user-friendly design enabling companies to achieve superior parts with minimal training. The touch screen monitor guides the operator through the few steps needed to start production. Optimized blade advancement profiles are stored in the CNC and are automatically selected based on material type and blade.
After sawing, the ends of the parts can be brush deburred both internally and externally, and an air jet effectively cleans the inside of each tube. The entire production may also be measured and certified.
An optional automatic washing system—thermally insulated and entirely made of stainless steel—can be used to clean the inside and outside of each tube. Each part is individually washed and dried for maximum efficiency. Finally, a bundle style belt collector can be added to speed up finished part packing.
