October 16, 2019 - PFERD, Milwaukee, has announced that the BOSCH X-LOCK quick-change system for angle grinders is now available for a wide variety of PFERD cut-off wheels, flap discs, grinding wheels and brushes. This time and labor-saving system let users change applicable X-LOCK products quickly and comfortably.

Instead of a round center hole, the X-LOCK system features an X-shaped contour which allows the product to be fixed on the angle grinder in a quick and form- fitting manner. For example, when using a flap disc users know that the discs are fixed securely when they audibly click into place. This ensures that different discs can be mounted securely and easily in the shortest possible time. The unique X-LOCK system meets the highest quality and safety standards and is proven to withstand tough and challenging operating conditions.

The X-LOCK system includes a variety of knot wheel brushes such as the standard twist, full cable twist and stringer bead twist that can be used for different applications and exhibit a good balance between aggressiveness and flexibility. The standard twist brushes are ideal for heavy-duty cleaning and surface conditioning. The full cable twist brush is for tough brushing applications and the stringer bead twist brushes provide the most aggressive brushing action.

Cut-off wheels with X-LOCK include PSF STEELOX, a fast cutting cut-off wheel for steel and stainless steel (INOX) with a long service life and SG STEELOX cut-off wheels.

For flap discs with X-LOCK, PFERD offers a number of options, including Z PSF STEELOX and Z PSF EXTRA STEELOX zirconia alumina flap and the POLIFAN® Z SG POWER flap disc that features an aggressive stock removal rate.   

POLIFAN®-STRONG STEEL flap discs are available with X-LOCK. They achieve an unsurpassed stock removal rate and a service life that far exceeds that of conventional flap discs. As is the POLIFAN®-CURVE flap disc that delivers optimum grinding of fillet weld geometry and the POLIFAN® Z SGP CURVE STEELOX for stock removal on steel and stainless steel (INOX).

PFERD is also offering grinding wheels with the X-LOCK quick change system, including the PSF STEEL and the SG STEEL grinding wheels. In addition, PFERD cup brushes for low flex, high impact grinding are also available with the new X-LOCK quick change system.
