August 10, 2021 - Coe Press Equipment, Sterling Heights, Michigan, has announced the appointment of Douglas Thedford (pictured) as its new purchasing manager. In this position, Thedford will be in charge of supervising RFQs, managing inventory and materials, procuring goods and contractor services, and establishing and upholding procurement policies that meet the company’s requirements for cost, quality and value.
“Doug has impressive experience within purchasing and the metal forming marketplace, to say nothing of his dedication to workplace improvement,” said Reid Coe, president, “We feel lucky to have him join us and look forward to his contributions to the company.”
Thedford’s education includes a bachelor’s of marketing, business administration from Alabama A&M University and a master’s of business administration from Medaille College in Buffalo, New York. Additionally, he has Lean Enterprise and Global Supply Management Negotiations training and is certified as a lead auditor for QS9000 and TS9000. He has also given his time to being a member of the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council; a Winning Futures mentor; and president of the GM Techmasters Toastmasters Club in addition to other volunteer work.
