May 19, 2022 - Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, Illinois, recently received an order for a Precision Blanking Line and a Light Gauge Slitting Line from Quality Metals to be installed in their new facility in San Antonio, Texas. Both machines will be rated for up to .060 in. (1.5 mm) material thickness by 60 in. (1524 mm) material width and will have a 30,000 pound (13,600 kg) coil capacity. Productivity will be monitored via time tracker on both machines.
The Blanking Line will be able to produce flat, close tolerance parts utilizing a Roller Leveler, Inspection Area, and Grip Feed System. The line will also consist of a traversing Uncoiler, top side Film Applicator, Thread System, High Speed Shear, and Drop Stacker for up to 12 ft. (3.6 m) parts. Longer parts will be possible via c-frame Stacker feature and side discharge Rollout Conveyors.
The Light Gauge Slitting Line will be equipped with Red Bud’s CNC Semi-Automatic Slitting Head to significantly reduce set up time compared to a traditional Packed Arbor Slitting Head. Divider tooling can be set up offline on included “sleeves” which are exchanged easily via quick release, no bearings. Edge trim scrap will be safely collected by a Scrap Winder that empties with a push of a button, and an Exit Shear provides the opportunity for the line to be started quickly after a coil is broken for weight or linear footage. An Exit Coil Lift and Turnstile will move and store slit coils prior to packaging.
