June 8, 2022 - Wieland is the leading supplier of semi-finished copper and copper alloy products in North America. To meet increasing customer demand in the region, Juárez service offerings will include slitting and warehousing for red metals and aluminum. The aim is to provide customers with even more all-round technical expertise in order to further drive their growth in the region. Production at the approximately 92,000 square feet facility will begin in June 2022.
Juárez is located near the main transportation vein that links the United States and Mexico, and therefore brings opportunities for expansion beyond current capabilities in the Querétaro area in central Mexico. The location opens cross-border sales and quickens the turnaround time for orders – all while bolstering productivity. “We are excited to expand our Mexico footprint to Juárez and support the growth of our customers. This expansion complements our existing footprint in Querétaro, and expands Wieland’s geographical reach throughout North America with our vast product portfolio,” says Greg Keown, President, Wieland Metal Services.
As the new site offers room for expansion, there is potential for other complementary Wieland Group business units to also begin production there in the future. Wieland’s long-term objective for the Juárez operations is to retain market leadership in quality, alloy portfolio, and to respond to customers’ needs and progressing expectations. In addition to the continued expansion of the sales and service network, fourteen new career opportunities will be created at this site.
