Mazak Optonics opens world's largest dedicated laser technology center
May 2009 - After a ribbon-cutting ceremony May 12, Mazak Optonics Corp. held the grand opening for its new Laser Technology Center in Elgin, Ill., on May 13-14. The $11 million, 50,000-square-foot facility is part of Mazak's $25.6 million investment in the North American fabricating industry. Currently, 13 lasers are at the facility, which has the capacity for 18.
