U.S. aluminum can recycling rate hits 54.2 percent in 2008
August 2009 - In conjunction with the Can Manufacturers Institute, Washington, D.C., and the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, Washington, D.C., The Aluminum Association announced that the used beverage container recycling rate for 2008 was highest for aluminum cans: 54.2 percent. The Aluminum Association says this underscores the sustainable nature of aluminum cans.
