MAZAK OPTONICS RELEASES HIGH POWER FLAT SHEET LASER, OPTIPLEX HP

Mazak Optonics Corp. has introduced a new machine model in the OPTIPLEX 2D laser-cutting product line, OPTIPLEX HP.

OPTIPLEX HP is available in 30kW and 20kW power level plus 4220 and 3015 machine size options.

Optimized for thick plate cutting, HP integrates high power with the accessible design of Mazak’s flagship flat sheet laser, the OPTIPLEX NEO. Large doors on the front and side of the machine minimize work area restrictions by offering complete access to the cutting table for easy loading and unloading of material. The rotating CNC display provides flexibility to work at the front or side of the machine.

Proprietary cutting head technology featured on HP is designed for high-power cutting durability and functionality. A new cutting process, defined as GrandCut, utilizes optimal heating temperatures while cutting to improve part quality and provide continuous, high-quality machining of thick mild steel materials.

New nozzle technology required for GrandCut operations allow increased focal range and programmable spot size to facilitate thick plate cutting beyond the traditional threshold of 25mm (1.00”), expanding the cutting range to 50mm (2.00”) and beyond while minimizing processing defects. In addition to the expanded range of thick plate cutting with oxygen as an assist gas, HP offers increased cutting speeds with the use of both high pressure air and gas mixing technology which is programmable on demand by means of Mazak’s powerful SmoothLx control featured on the OPTIPLEX 2D laser-cutting product line.

Mazak’s OPTIPLEX HP is equipped with several intelligent functions, including Automatic Nozzle Changer and Nozzle Centering Camera. The Automatic Nozzle Changer command performs nozzle replacement by automatically selecting the appropriate nozzle for each laser-cutting job while prioritizing reduced assist gas consumption. The Nozzle Centering Camera function provides visibility of nozzle location while manual adjustments are made on the torch. Intelligent setup, monitoring, and cutting functions available on the HP machine support optimal laser-cutting performance.

MAZAK OPTONICS RELEASES HIGH PERFORMANCE TUBE AND PIPE LASER-CUTTING MACHINE, FT-250

Mazak Optonics Corp. has released the latest in its tube and pipe laser-cutting line up, the FT-250.

Designed for high performance processing of tube, structural, and open geometries, Mazak’s FT-250 streamlines non-cutting functions to maximize cutting uptime. The FT-250 redefines productivity by combining advanced machining capabilities, enhanced material handling, and ease of operation.

Standard features on the FT-250 include a 6kW power configuration and 2.5D cutting head with focus detection. The programmable B-Axis enables bevel cutting of the material thickness for improved welding, multitube assembly, fit and finish. A proprietary U-Axis facilitates speed and productivity in a wide range of applications. Intelligent Functions on the machine—Auto Profiler Calibration, Auto Nozzle Cleaning, and Auto Focus Positioning—support machining productivity.

Mazak’s FT-250 is equipped with a high-speed precision centering system to minimize workpiece setup time and ensure accurate workpiece alignment. Enhanced support equipment provides greater material stability to secure workpieces during cutting and improve precision. Dual motion units designated for high-speed cutting and milling functions boost processing efficiency. The new machine design allows for quick access to processing areas and chucks for streamlined maintenance.

The user-friendly SMOOTHTUBE control interface features a dual panel with 21.5-inch touchscreen displays to provide operators a comprehensive view of the complete production process for intuitive control and easy operation. Operators can conveniently set conditions for scheduled operations and reprocess selected parts directly from the control—without the need to edit the original program. Mazak’s TUBE DX CAD/CAM software reduces human error with visual verification prior to production. High precision simulations test processes from loading to processing and unloading for uninterrupted production.

MAZAK OPTONICS RELEASES NEW FLAT SHEET LASER WITH BEVEL CUTTING CAPABILITIES, OPTIPLEX BEVEL

Mazak Optonics Corp. has introduced a new machine model in the OPTIPLEX 2D laser-cutting product line, OPTIPLEX BEVEL.

OPTIPLEX BEVEL is available in a 4020 machine size plus 30kW and 20kW power options.

Designed to angle cut heavy plate for weld preparation and fitment, OPTIPLEX BEVEL integrates bevel cutting technology with the accessible design of Mazak’s flagship flat sheet laser, the OPTIPLEX NEO. Large doors on the front and side of the machine minimize work area restrictions by offering complete access to the cutting table for easy loading and unloading of material. The rotating CNC display provides flexibility to work at the front or side of the machine.

Laser-cutting technology featured on OPTIPLEX BEVEL incorporates a multi-axis articulating head with A and B axes allowing for cutting up to 45 degrees in angularity. The machine utilizes a proprietary laser source and cutting process to produce high quality parts with straighter, more perpendicular cuts and smoother edges.

The new SmoothBevel control provides quick identification of part geometry that requires beveling and allows operators to easily select from a wide range of bevel profiles possible, including “K” “X” and “Y.”

Mazak’s OPTIPLEX BEVEL is equipped with several intelligent functions, including Automatic Nozzle Changer and Nozzle Centering Camera. The Automatic Nozzle Changer command performs nozzle replacement by automatically selecting the appropriate nozzle for each lasercutting job while prioritizing reduced assist gas consumption. The Nozzle Centering Camera function provides visibility of nozzle location while manual adjustments are made on the torch. Intelligent setup, monitoring, and cutting functions available on the machine support optimal laser-cutting performance.
