Steel Manufacturers Association Welcomes Emily Bradshaw as Senior Manager of Government Affairs

The Steel Manufacturers Association (SMA) is proud to announce that Emily Bradshaw has joined as Senior Manager of Government Affairs. In this role, she will help lead SMA’s advocacy on trade, energy and environmental issues that impact America’s steelmakers.

Bradshaw brings a strong background in strategic communications, trade policy, and public engagement. Prior to joining SMA, she served in several key roles at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA). Most recently, she was a public affairs specialist in the Office of the Under Secretary for International Trade, where she managed media relations, crafted messaging on trade and tariff policy, and coordinated communications with senior leadership and the secretary’s office.

“Emily’s deep experience at the intersection of trade policy and public affairs makes her a tremendous addition to SMA,” said Philip K. Bell, president of the Steel Manufacturers Association. “Her understanding of how government decisions impact the domestic steel industrial, and her ability to communicate those issues effectively will strengthen SMA’s advocacy on behalf of the steelmakers who drive our economy.”

Brandon Farris, vice president of government affairs at SMA, added: “Emily is a dynamic addition to the SMA government affairs team. Her time at the Department of Commerce gives her a unique perspective on trade enforcement and global competition, which are critical areas for our members. We’re excited to have her on board.”

Bradshaw holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Arizona, and she is pursuing a master’s of science degree in international business from The George Washington University.
