Welding Automation Leader Pemamek Ltd. Names Ryan Althausen Business Development Manager for Pemamek LLC

Finland-based global welding automation leader Pemamek Ltd. has named Ryan Althausen Business Development Manager for its North American subsidiary Pemamek LLC. Pemamek provides welding automation technology and integrated manufacturing solutions to a wide range of industries including shipbuilding, general fabrication, offshore and process, wind energy, and power generation industries. The company offers robotic welding solutions, welding positioners, column and boom units, roller beds as well as the proprietary PEMA WeldControl programming and control software.

Althausen is responsible for introducing manufacturers in Texas and Oklahoma to Pemamek’s automated welding solutions which are especially suitable to the needs of those in the oil industry where heavy weld, high-mix, low-volume parts are necessary. His varied experience with welding technology is integral to his ability to not only introduce customers to Pemamek’s automated welding solutions but also to help them build customized systems and implement them into their own operations.

Althausen, a graduate of Grove City College, brings 10 years of experience in the welding industry to his current role starting as a welding engineer working with both manual hand-held and automated welding processes such as flux core and robotics for heavy weldments from the get-go. He earned his Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification through the American Welding Society in 2019 and an MBA from Southern Methodist University in 2022. He collaborates with customers to determine the best pre-fab and welding technologies for their applications and whether they are good candidates for automation by digging deep into their operations to find out actual needs and finding possible solutions to fit them.

One of the areas where Althausen has found great interest is the labor shortage which has found its way to the Texas/Oklahoma region as it has most of the United States. Pemamek’s automated welding systems are consistent, repeatable and are capable of working lights out.

“I’m thrilled to let people in the Texas and Oklahoma region know more about Pemamek and how our solutions can help them meet their large-scale automated welding needs and to support them from the investigative phase through final implementation and beyond. Pemamek has been in a leader in heavy automated welding technology for more than 50 years and I look forward to introducing manufacturers to proven strategies to solve their most challenging issues,” said Althausen.
