Ajax Metal Forming Solutions has officially announced the promotion of Don Wellman to Senior Vice President. The advancement expands Wellman’s leadership responsibilities across the entirety of the organization as Ajax continues to grow their capabilities, capacity, and presence across three locations.
Don has spent more than 28 years with Ajax, beginning his career on the production floor before moving through roles in estimating and purchasing and eventually into sales nearly 20 years ago. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Sales.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to become more involved in all facets of Ajax and help develop the strategies that will guide our continued growth,” said Wellman. “A big part of that is empowering the people around me to grow in their own roles and contribute to the success of the company. We have great opportunities ahead of us, and I’m looking forward to helping our team turn those opportunities into results.”
In his new role, Don will focus on executing Ajax’s long-term strategic priorities, including growth, sustainability, and the continued expansion of capacity and services across their facilities in Minneapolis, Raleigh, and Tucson. He will also continue supporting the development of Ajax employees and leaders as his responsibilities evolve. As part of the transition, new hire Wade Sand will assume Don’s previous role as Director of Sales & Marketing, with more than 25 years in manufacturing.

As Senior Vice President, he plans to help preserve the collaborative, small-company culture Ajax has maintained throughout its growth while simultaneously creating new opportunities for employees to develop themselves and take on greater responsibilities.
