Atlas Tube to Sponsor AI-Focused Hackathon at 2026 NCSEA Structural Engineering Summit

Atlas Tube, a Zekelman Industries company and a leading producer of hollow structural sections (HSS) in North America, will serve as a Lead Builder Sponsor of NCSEA’s The Big Build: SE Hackathon, an AI-focused preconference event taking place October 27 at the 2026 NCSEA Structural Engineering Summit in San Francisco.

The Big Build will bring structural engineers together to explore how AI can help solve everyday analysis, design and workflow challenges. Participants will learn the fundamentals of vibe coding, pitch ideas, form teams and spend the day developing and demonstrating prototype solutions to real-world problems.

“The most useful technology starts with a real problem that needs to be solved,” said Brad Fletcher, Sr. Sales Engineer, Atlas Tube. “The Hackathon gives structural engineers a chance to identify challenges they encounter every day and then work together to see what new technology can do about them.”

As a Lead Builder Sponsor, Atlas Tube will help define the Hackathon challenges and provide representatives to serve as team mentors and innovation advisors throughout the event. Atlas Tube will also help judge the event and kick off the day with opening remarks.

At the conclusion of the Hackathon, teams will present their projects and live demos before judges recognize standout work in three categories: Best Overall Hack, Most Collaborative and Most Relevant. Atlas Tube will provide prizes for the top performing teams.

The Big Build will take place from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square. The event is designed for structural engineers of all experience levels, including those with no previous coding experience.
